Hokuto, Yamanashi · Independent institute
Prabhu International Research Institute (PIRI) is an independent centre for privacy-preserving AI, behavioural biometrics, assistive intelligence, and reliable machine learning. From Hokuto we publish, convene peer-reviewed conferences, partner with universities, and pursue niche programmes that Japanese local government and international funders can recognise.

Mandate
PIRI is not a Tokyo satellite and not a tourism brand. It is a scholarly organisation: papers, data, peer review, and grants. The Yatsugatake setting is a research advantage — quiet, distinctive, and fundable as a place-based international centre.
Claims are tied to ORCID, DOI, review records, and experimental protocol.
Synthetic data, federated learning, and empirical privacy sit at the core, not as an appendix.
Japanese and English. University memoranda. Return to Hokuto and Yamanashi.
Transparent peer review, Crossref DOIs, ORCID, and staged indexing.
Research
Grants and university partnerships do not come from being a general AI shop. PIRI’s five divisions sit at the intersection of the founders’ peer-reviewed record and the digital-health needs of Yamanashi.
PIRI-BB
Continuous multimodal authentication, gait, keystroke and sensor fusion, with privacy-preserving enrolment and quantum-resistant zero-trust architectures.
PIRI-SD
High-fidelity synthetic datasets, federated multimodal attention, and empirical privacy assurance for health, robotics, and identity research.
PIRI-AH
AI for aging societies, gait-based health-risk detection, EHR-focused diagnostic models, and assistive navigation — aligned with Hokuto and Yamanashi social needs.
PIRI-ML
Leakage-safe algorithm recommendation, shift-aware evaluation, selective abstention, and hardware-aware model selection for tabular and multimodal tasks.
PIRI-SC
Peer-reviewed open journals, international conference series hosted in Yamanashi, library/repository services, and indexing-ready publishing infrastructure.
Founding
Both founders hold PhDs in Computer Science and publish in IEEE Access, AIP Conference Proceedings, Springer, and IEEE ICMI. Publications are public on ORCID.
PN
Founder and Research Scientist
PhD in Computer Science
Privacy-preserving multimodal behavioural biometrics, continuous authentication, synthetic data, and trustworthy AI for identity systems.
SKN
Founder and Research Scientist
PhD in Computer Science
Algorithm recommendation, synthetic data for privacy, gait and behavioural biometrics, assistive AI, and empirical methods for reliable machine learning.
Record
Titles and DOIs follow public ORCID and Crossref records. PIRI / Yamanashi already appears as affiliation and funder on indexed work.

Meetings
PIRI-TIS 2027 and the annual Yatsugatake symposium from 2026. Hosting international meetings in a regional city is itself a grant and partnership argument.

Publishing
PIRI Transactions and the assistive-health journal will be peer-reviewed on OJS. WordPress remains the institute site; scholarly publishing lives at journals.piri.or.jp.
